It’s amazing how Turtle Beach keeps releasing gaming tech left and right, while also topping what they’ve released before. The latest series of tech they’ve gone back and made better is their Kone II lineup of gaming mice, consisting of the Kone II and Kone II Air. I’ll go into the Turtle Beach Kone II Air Wireless Gaming Mouse in this review, as it’s their best wireless mouse yet.
via YouTubeAs soon as I gripped the mouse in my hand, I could tell a lot of work went into making the Kone II Air, as it just feels comfy to use and easy to move around. I’m sure it’s in part of being made with a lightweight yet strong material, as well as having an ergonomic shape for big hands (like mine) and for use with any kind of mouse grip you’re used to.
If that wasn’t enough, there’s also additional grip tape included to customize your mouse, and the pure, heat-treated PTFE feet make this feel so good to use as it glides smoothly across any surface. The lightweight and drag-free PhantomFlex cable is also perfect as it doesn’t get tangled up, snagged or in the way when charging while playing, which is always a plus.
Turtle Beach has updated their mice to use their advanced Owl-Eye 26K Optical Sensor, that ranges from 50 DPI up to 26K DPI with 650 IPS (aka 16.5m/s) to make sure any and all movements you make are registered quickly and precisely. I’m also a huge fan of their multi-function 4D scroll wheel, as it offers both free-spinning and tactile scrolling options (my favorite). There’s also customizable tilt controls so you can seamlessly glide through games and content with ease.
Speaking of customizing, you can grab the Swarm II app for your device and take things further with the Easy-Shift+ duplicator technology. This allows you to turn the Kone II Air’s seven buttons and scroll wheel into 21 customizable functions (23 on the wired Kone II) for you to use how you see fit. Also, you’ll be happy to know the buttons here feature Turtle Beach’s Titan Optical Switch technology that feel so good to click and boasts having a 100 million click life cycle to ensure you’ll be using it for a long time.
In case you’re wondering, the battery life for the Kone II Air is awesome, as it can go for nearly 350 hours using low-latency Bluetooth, or close to 130 hours using its high-performance 2.4GHz wireless connection. That’s even when factoring in the cool looking AIMO intelligent RGB lighting surging through the mouse, with five onboard profiles and can be customized via the Swarm II app.
If you’re looking for a great wireless mouse, you can’t go wrong with the Turtle Beach Kone II Air Wireless Gaming Mouse. It feels great, moves and slides nicely, has amazing battery life, and can be customized inside and out to be a perfect fit for your gaming needs.
