There’s nothing like a good headset where gaming sounds, music, and movie audio come through crystal clear with just enough bass to keep things intense. I’m always in the market of finding any good ones I can get my hands and ears on, and the LucidSound LS10X Wired Gaming Headset is one I can recommend thanks to a nice build quality, 50mm speakers and is surround sound ready for all your audio needs.
Upon picking these up, I could feel just how lightweight (only 9 oz) and sturdy they are as there’s a solid heavy duty plastic headband with just enough cushion at the top to keep things comfortable. Then there’s the breathable mesh earpieces with 50mm speakers that make sure every sound comes through loud and clear with plenty of bass to back things up. This definitely came in handy while playing games such as Destiny 2, Nier Automata, and Diablo III on my Xbox One X as sounds (as well as awesome music) are critical to gameplay.
I like how LucidSound placed the audio controls on the left earpiece in the form of a dial you can turn to adjust the volume, and pressing the center of it mutes and unmutes the microphone. Speaking of which, you get not one but two microphones on this device, as you can use the standard boom mic with a LED indicator that turns red when the mic is muted, or unplug it and use the integrated mic for your mobile devices.
Those who are into Dolby surround sound will be happy to know these support Dolby Atmos or Windows Sonic when used on the Xbox One console. And while this headset is marketed for the Xbox One and is officially licensed by Microsoft, you can use them on any device with a 3.5mm audio jack. While I wish the cord was a bit longer, the 1.2m (4 feet) cable is good enough, especially when used with a controller that’s already close to you as is.
If you’re looking for a solid headset for your Xbox One or any device with a 3.5mm audio jack, the LucidSound LS10X Wired Gaming Headset is a great fit both literally and figuratively. It has a sturdy build, comfortable earpieces and headband that keeps you focused on your game, and supports Dolby surround sound on top of already crystal clear audio for one of the best mid-tier headsets you can buy.
