After reviewing the Reolink Battery Doorbell, I couldn’t wait to see what other security devices the company would come up with next. I didn’t have to wait long as our friends there sent over the Reolink Altas PT Ultra 4K Wireless Security Camera that makes watching over your property as easy as possible.
Since I already had the app from the doorbell review, setting up this camera was a breeze and I immediately loved the ultra high-definition 4K picture the device was giving, along with the 110 degree diagonal field of view while the lens portion can be rotated 355 degrees horizontally and 140 degrees vertically, making sure you can see everything you need to. It’s also tough and carries a IP65 water resistant rating to hold up to any kind of weather, rain or shine.
You can also configure the camera to do things such as track movement, set a position you want the camera to return to after a predetermined time, as well as other neat options through the Reolink app. I was also really amazed at how well the camera can capture images in color at night, as long as there’s some kind of light outside. If not, the image will be on the murky side, but thankfully the Altas PT Ultra has an LED spotlight built in to help capture necessary images at night.
As far as power goes, this device runs on a nice 21600mAh battery and can be charged via its USB-C port or you can purchase the six watt solar panel for it to make the battery last even longer. Reolink was kind enough to supply one in the review sample sent to us, along with a 256GB microSD card to use for storage.
You’ll want to grab the solar panel as it helps so much with not having to take the camera down and charge it every few days or so, depending on how much you use it. If you want the ultimate setup, it can also be hardwired to your home as well. Much like their doorbell, there’s also a mic and speaker for two-way audio use, and an integrated siren should you need to scare wild animals or potential intruders.
Going back to the storage aspect of the device, you can also use Reolink’s Home Hub or cloud service for a subscription fee, and you can connect to the camera using its dual-band Wi-Fi 6 adapter, or use a 3G or 4G mobile service provider via a nano SIM card, which easily makes this one of the most versatile devices I’ve ever used.
If you’re looking for an inexpensive way to keep your home and property secure, you’ll want to look into picking up the Reolink Altas PT Ultra 4K Wireless Security Camera to add to your security ecosystem. It has everything you need to get it setup, mounted, and recording in no time. You’ll want to opt for the solar panel and microSD card when purchasing to save time and charging maintenance later. Once you’re setup though, you’ll be so glad you got it to keep a watchful eye out for trouble.
