Those who have followed my backpack, travel bag, and briefcase reviews know that I love having the perfect sized bag for whatever I’m doing. I’ve never had the chance of reviewing a sling pack/bag until NOMATIC was kind enough to send me their Navigator Sling 6L for review. Anyone looking for a small bag that’s big on space and features will want to grab one of these for their daily adventures.

After removing the sling bag from the neat box and giant plastic zipper bag it came in, the first thing I noticed was how light yet strong and durable it is. It’s made with a hard, water resistant, nylon-like material which is always a plus when going out in the elements, and it only weighs a little over a pound.

For those curious about its dimensions, the Navigator Sling 6L is working with 13.5″ H x 9″ W x 4″ D, but can pack quite a lot in its six liters of space. I especially love the molded back to make sure your back gets plenty of air as to not get super sweaty while also making sure the pack fits nicely against you.

The study strap can be adjusted from 30″ long at its smallest to 60″ when fully extended to make sure it’s a perfect fit for anyone. There’s also a card slot on the strap for quick access to any public transit cards, keycard IDs, and such. If needed, there’s also a hidden stabilizer strap that attaches to the main one for added comfort and stability should your outing get really adventurous.

Starting with the front of the sling, there’s a nice sized zippered pocket that’s great for quick and easy access to any small items you need. Moving to the main compartment, there’s four pockets for you to store small size things in such as a wallet, notepad, pens/pencils, cell phone, etc. Speaking of wallets, there’s a RFID safe pocket that’s perfect for blocking any ne’er-do-wells trying to scan your credit/debit cards.

Next we have the back pocket that has additional smaller pockets for more storage, and you can even fit an 11” tablet here as well. For those who like threading cables in their bags, there’s also a pass-through hole that leads to the main compartment for a nice bit of cable management.

On the outside of the sling there’s two handles should you want to carry it, and there’s two hidden pockets where one can store small items and has a nifty key leash, and the other pocket contains a mesh water bottle holder that can go back in the pocket when not in use.

There’s also some neat bells and whistles that I really like about this sling, such as small, reflective strips along the front to make sure you’re seen at night, and I really love how the zippers can be tied or locked together to keep out any pickpockets. It’s sweet features such as these that make an already great bag even better, and it’s nice when companies go beyond with littles touches like this.

If you’re looking for a great sling bag that’s small in size but big on space and features, you’ll want to check out the NOMATIC Navigator Sling 6L. Built to withstand the elements and thieves, while also looking great and toting plenty of pockets and quick access to cards, keys, and even your drink, this is easily one of the best slings you’ll find out there.
