As I play MMOs, FPS titles, and more on my PC, I can’t stress enough how essential a good gaming mouse is. It’s always a plus having one that can take the punishment of clicking after clicking, as well as being slid around with sometimes sweaty hands when the gaming action gets intense. Thankfully the Cooler Master MM720 Gaming Mouse has any player covered, as it’s one of the most well made and functional ones you can get.
I was sent the matte finish black model, and it’s pretty light and comfy right out of the box. It’s made to be used with a claw grip and has two side buttons that can be set with custom keybinds, and has a finger rest on the side. Thanks to the honeycomb-like design, it only weighs 49g to make sure your fingers and hand are only battling what’s on the screen and not fighting to move the mouse around.
Another feature that makes this product fun to use are the PTFE feet on the bottom to make sliding this around a breeze. Most people have to go out of their way to find these to mod their mouse, but it’s nice that Cooler Master added these 95% grade ones off the bat. Of course the real star is the 16000 DPI Pixart optical sensor to make sure all of your actions and shots are accurate and on point.
You can also adjust the DPI to your liking at anytime once you have the MasterPlus software for the mouse installed on your PC. You can also use it to adjust the cool RGB lighting featured inside as well. It goes without saying that I love the optical switches in the left and right click buttons, as they have a nice, satisfying feel and sound without all the wear and tear from typical mice. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve dealt with “double clicking” from other gaming mice that annoys me to no end and makes games practically unplayable.
The 1.8m/5ft ultralight cable is a nice touch too, as it doesn’t get in the way of your gaming or tangle/bunch up easily. Another plus is that the mouse body is treated with a dust and water-resistant coating (IP58 rating) to make sure your mouse stays clean and dry should any sweaty hands come into play or spill accidents occur. Don’t laugh; this is a bigger problem than you might think!
No matter what kind of PC games you’re into, if you’re looking for a solid gaming mouse that won’t break the bank ($50 or less at most retailers), you can’t go wrong with the Cooler Master MM720 Gaming Mouse. It’s light but durable all around with appreciated bells and whistles that make it as fun to use as the games you play it with.
