It feels like yesterday when I was sent the Creative Sensemore Air earphones for review, but that was nearly a year ago. After tweaking some of the settings through their app, they managed to be a nice pair for those on a budget. Now the company has release their latest entries, the Creative Zen Air and Creative Zen Air Pro Wireless Earphones, which I received the latter for review, and they’re pretty solid for those looking to listen to music or chat.
Creative hits the ground running right out of the box, as the Zen Air Pro features 10mm bio-cellulose drivers which have been expertly tuned by their sound team to deliver crystal clear high frequency sounds, well-balanced mid-range, and of course the all important bass to make your music shine. You can also use Creative’s app for more sound options to tweak these to your liking.
Even better is that these use Bluetooth 5.3 LE and utilize LC3+ (ULL), LC3, AAC and SBC codecs to give you clear and rich sounding audio all the time. Speaking of time, the Zen Air Pro earbuds can go the distance with nearly 33 hours of playback time.
You get about 9 hours or so of use, and recharging them in their case holds enough power to give you roughly 33 hours before having to charge it as well. There’s also a quick charging feature that gives you an hour of use from only 5 minutes of charging should you be in a rush.
That’s also if you’re not using them at near full volume as well as all of the cool features they have I’ll get into, such as Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation that can filter out background noise during your use, from an airplane engine when traveling to people talking in a crowded space. And if you want to do the opposite and hear what’s around you, there’s an Ambient Mode setting that enhances the sounds nearby that’s pretty neat.
Another cool feature these have is the ability to use them for chatting on your cell phone or any device that supports Bluetooth headsets. The Zen Air Pro has not one, not two, but six mics to make sure you’re heard loud and clear while also using some of the mics to filter background noise with ANC on.
You’re also able to use these to active assistants such as Apple’s Siri or Google Assistant, and there’s no need to worry about getting caught in the rain or exercising while using these, as the IPX5 rating makes sure sweat, water, dust and dirt can’t get in the way of use.
The Creative Zen Air Pro Wireless Earphones are a great choice for those looking for a pair. They’re priced well, deliver powerful sound while featuring quite a few welcomed bonuses such as ANC, and are great for voice chat that make these a solid go-to for all your mobile audio needs.
