When I first got the Mammoth earphones from Campfire Audio, I’ll admit that the weird shape threw me off but the awesome audio made me love them. It’s good to know that they haven’t been sitting still as now they’ve brought that awesomeness to the wireless realm with the Campfire Audio Orbit Wireless Earphones that’s easily their best product yet and one of the best I’ve used.
After opening their always fun packaging that feels like you’re opening a gift, I could immediately tell these earphones were high quality thanks to the stainless steel spout, their golden plated logo etched on each piece, and the nice matte finish with dual tone ABS on the pieces and charging case.
The true magic starts once you pair them to the charge case, then press the button on the case to enter pair mode to connect to any of your wireless devices via their powerful Bluetooth 5.2 connection with Bluetooth LE support as well as support for SBC, AAC, AptX Adaptive.
From here you place these babies into your ears (which fits real comfy and comes with plenty of swappable earbud covers) and crank up some tunes (in my case some music on my iPhone 14 Pro Max) and let the magic wash over you as you won’t believe how good these sound.
Thanks to Campfire Audio’s custom 10mm dynamic drivers, you’re able to hear everything clearly with plenty of bass-filled goodness when needed. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to deal with typical earphones that sound okay but usually have that tiny sound they’re known for. With the Orbit earphones, it’s like having an expensive pair of headphones shrunk down to fit in your ears, giving you that full, bass-filled sound you expect from those.
The drivers feature a 5Hz–20 kHz frequency response to make sure no matter what you’re listening to sounds perfect, even when having phone conversations. That’s right, these have you covered thanks to featuring dual high-quality microphones built into each piece that picks up your voice nicely while drowning out some background noise to make sure you’re heard clearly. I also like how they have an IXP5 water resistance rating as you can use them like I did while walking, bike riding, and more without worrying about rain, dirt, or sweat messing them up.
Then there’s the fact these earphones can go the distance as they contain a 50mAh battery that lasts for nearly 9 hours at 80% volume. On top of that is the awesome case that features a 270 mAh battery that provides up three full charges, giving you close to another 30 hours of use when needed.
The case can be charged via the included USB-C to USB-C wire that comes with it, or with any Qi wireless charging device, and it only takes two and half hours for a wireless charge and an hour for wired charging.
If you’re in the market for some solid, wireless earphones, you really can’t go wrong with the Campfire Audio Orbit Wireless Earphones. They’re small but powerful, look great and sound even better, and they have you covered for music and phone use. They come highly recommended and are sure to stay in your essential tech orbit for a long time.
