With different levels of anemia in my family, we tend to get cold easily at times which means we’re always looking for a good space heater around this time of year. Thankfully our friends at Dreo just keep making one handy and amazing product after another with the Dreo Solaris Max Heater, which is quite possibly the best one I’ve used so far.
Coming in at nearly seven pounds, 24 inches high with an eight-inch circular plastic mount, this heater brings the heat and then some right out of the box. I was literally surprised at how fast it warmed up after first turning it on, as it felt as though I were in front of a small oven within seconds after powering it up.
That was thanks to it being set to auto/eco mode when I first used it and it knew it was chilly in my living room which was around 65 degrees at the time. It also comes with a handy remote that allows you to select the different modes and temperature, set a sleep timer, and turn oscillating the device 70 degrees on or off.
The modes you can choose from are 700W (Low), 900W (Medium), and 1500W (High) which increases both the temperature and fan speed the higher you go. To me the best mode is the one it started in called Eco or Economy mode where you choose a set temperature and the device will auto adjust itself from low, med, and high to reach that desired temp and keep it there, so you can set it and forget it.
I found out that the reason this heater warms so fast is thanks to Dreo’s custom fan blowing air across PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) ceramic heating elements. The cool (or should I say hot?) thing about these elements is that the less electricity running through them, the warmer they get, which is perfect for your power bill.
So while it draws a lot of power at first, once it’s warm the power use will decrease while keeping you nice and toasty. I also love how it’s fairly quiet most of the time, unless you have it on its highest setting which clocks in around 37db, but it’s still not bad and lets you know it’s working. It also has nice safety features such as auto shut-off if tipped over or if it overheats which is always a plus.
If you’re looking for a practically perfect space heater for the winter, you can’t go wrong with the Dreo Solaris Max Heater. It heats up extremely fast to the point you’d think it was magic when you turn it on, and will make you want to curl up in front of it instead of the fireplace.
