Circana (Formerly NPD): June 2023
Circana remains the gaming industry’s best snapshot of what’s moving and shaking up both physical and digital retail shelves across the country. All estimates are for entertainment purposes only. Total sales of new gaming hardware and software topped $4.7 billion, a nice 9 percent uptick over last year.
The software charts were dominated by a trio of newcomers led by Diablo IV, Final Fantasy XVI, and Street Fighter 6, shoving last month’s topper The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to fourth. The rest of the Top Twenty is an amazingly diverse list of hits proving there’s something for everyone out there.
