2018 is over and done with, but we’re not done with 2018 yet. That’s right – only after the final days of the calendar year have passed us by can we – your faithful Popzara Pals – truly deep dive into the best and worst things we experienced over the past twelve months. In this highly interactive episode of the Popzara Podcast we’re talking games – the best, the worst, and everything else that tickled our fancies and deflated our dreams of 2018.

For this, we’ve got Popzara’s senior games editor Cory Galliher leading the charge, with managing editor Nathan Evans and, making his podcast debut, freshly-minted editor-at-large James McKeever to discuss their favorite, most disappointing, and biggest interactive surprises they played, reviewed or (truthfully) skipped through the year.

So what games made the cut? You’ll have to listen to find out, but here’s a random sampling to help whet your whistle: Sony’s God of War (2018), Capcom’s Monster Hunter: World, Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2, a surprise hit with Enhance’s Tetris Effect, and scores of other surprises as the guys talk their favorite and most disappointing games they played this year.

Speaking of surprises – have you even heard of Lucas Pope’s Return of the Obra Dinn? After listening to the guys break everything down, you won’t know how you lived without it. Seriously. There’s a lot discussed here – better take notes!
