It’s alive! After taking last year off for *unspecified reasons* the world’s longest-running and most recognizable tradeshow dedicated exclusively to the world of videogames has returned, transformed into a digital-only streaming event. That’s right: E3 is back, baby, and we’re here for it.
On this reignited episode of the Popzara Podcast we’ve gathered our best titled editors, including Senior Games Editor Cory Galliher, Senior Tech Editor Herman Exum, our typically elusive Senior Editor Chris “Wolfman” Mitchell, and Managing Editor Nate Evans to talk, comment on, and explore the best, worst, and everything else shown during the resurrected tradeshow that was E3 2021.
While not the same videogame extravaganza of years past – many, including Sony, elected not to participate – there was still much to love and appreciate. Highlights include (but not limited to): Starfield is coming (but not for everyone)! Metroid Dread is Metroid 5! The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel still doesn’t have an official name! Forza Horizon 5 looks realer than real! Elden Ring might be the Dark Souls fix you’re looking for! Final Fantasy can be pixels and polygons! Halo Infinite just might come out this year! The Intellivision Amico is real! The Switch Pro (as of yet) is not!
Speaking of games, here’s a few honorable mentions you’ll want to keep track of: Age of Empires 4! Diablo 2: Resurrected! Eiyuden Chronicle! Rainbow Six: Extraction! Battlefield 2042! Back 4 Blood! Trek to Yomi! Replaced! Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy! Mario Party Superstars! Shin Megami Tensei V! Sifu! Psychonauts 2! A Plague Tale: Requiem! Harold Halibut! Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora! Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp!
