The world’s biggest gaming extravaganza has come and gone, but the memories of E3 2019 will last a lifetime. Well, they’ll last until the next one anyway. To get a better idea about what went down at the show, both on and off the floor, editors Herman Exum, Cory Galliher, Nathan Evans and James McKeever (making his E3 Podcast debut) gathering around their microphones to talk all about the biggest surprises, biggest disappointments and just about everything else that went down and around on the mean streets in Los Angeles at E3 2019.
While industry titans like Sony, Activision and others had a massively reduced presence on the floor (if at all), big announcements from Microsoft, Nintendo, Ubisoft, Bethesda and tons of indies made up for the slack with impressive lineups that helped return this scaled-back tradeshow to its roots and what matters most: the games.
Speaking of games, what stood out most for our editorial coterie? Plenty, it turns out. Can Square-Enix’s Final Fantasy VII remake excite the fans all over again? Will Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare make campaigns cool again? Will CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 and Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs: Legion finally make hacker culture mainstream? Will Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel be more than just more Breath of the Wild? Can Boyfriend Dungeon live up to the hype?
Listen for exclusive looks at some of the best and biggest tech on the show floor, including many of the latest and greatest gaming headsets, handheld consoles, gaming chairs, and even potential vaporware you might want to avoid. Was there anything bigger at the show than Keanu Reeves? Spoiler: nope, but you’ll still want to listen anyway. Woah.
