Seems like ninja turtle mania is still going strong after all these years, as the new Nickelodeon series is showing no signs of slowing down. To celebrate this, the company has decided to put together something special for fans and especially those new to the show by boxing up the first two seasons in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Complete First and Second Seasons collection. Featuring 52 episodes and special features spread across eight discs, this is some serious turtle power that will keep viewers happy as our heroes kick shell and take names.

Anyone who has followed my previous TMNT DVD reviews will know that I have already reviewed each individual disc of the first two seasons in this set. Those who haven’t seen/read them or wish to go over them again can do so with this Convenient Link that leads to our handy dandy search page. In each of those reviews, you’ll see that I’m a huge fan of the show and can’t get enough of it. I also go over the cool special features that are included on each disc, such as the making of an episode called “Mutation of a Scene” and more.

I will say that while I’m one of the biggest fans of the show, I really wish Nickelodeon would give us a high definition Blu-ray treatment of this. The series is obviously doing great because people love it, and it’s shown in HD on TV, yet there hasn’t been one Blu-ray of it yet. All one can do is hope against hope that Nickelodeon will finally release a high definition set of this sometime before or after the third season is finished coming out on DVD.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Complete First and Second Seasons box set is a perfect gift for a fan or someone who has never seen the series. While I’m still hoping and praying for a Blu-ray release of the show (along with every fan out there I’m sure), there’s still loads of fun and awesome special features here than you can shake a pizza at. Those who pick this up and watch are sure to be entertained as the lean, green, fighting machines do their thing.
