Stop me if you’ve heard this one before, a teenage guy in anime gets placed in a situation where he’s surrounded by lovely girls with issues. Yeah, I figured you’ve heard of that and seen it a billion times like I have. Even still, Sentai Filmworks’ Seitokai Yakuindomo: Complete Collection manages to have some fun with the formula, even though every anime trope you know and then some sees the light here.

Things kick off with our young protagonist Takatoshi Tsuda being a freshman at Ousai Private Academy, an all-female school that just happens to go co-ed. So when he finds out he’s one of 28 guys in a school with over 500 ladies, things seem to be really looking up for him. Since this is an anime, naturally things go from good to bad as student council president Shino Amakusa pulls him not only into the school council, but a hot mess as well thanks to Shino, council secretary Aria and faculty advisor Ms. Yokoshima being sex-crazed and out of control with their kinky antics.

Toss in the school treasurer Suzu having rage issues and the head of the school newspaper selling scandalous pictures of the council members with Takatoshi in tow, and it’s going to take a miracle for Takatoshi to make it through the school year with his sanity and dignity intact. While it does have loads of anime tropes, I still had a good time watching all of the crazy situations the characters get into as poor Takatoshi always gets thrown in the middle of something wacky and perverted.

From the girls losing bras and panties at a hot spring, to some of the school staff trying to make out with Takatoshi, to the cute but always angry Suzu that’s ready to fight as soon as someone calls her a kid, there’s always something funny and silly going on.

As a matter of fact, there’s so much craziness going on that it spills over into two seasons of the series and a movie that’s all included in this set. That’s a pretty cool value that Sentai Filmworks packed into this collection, and they did a great job with the Blu-ray transfer as everything looks and sounds great in high-definition. The special features include clean opening and closing animations, and some original Japanese promotional videos for the movie.

If you can’t get enough of the “anime guy caught between weird and kinky ladies” anime trope, then you’ll want to settle down in class for Seitokai Yakuindomo: Complete Collection. There’s tons of laughs and innuendo between the two seasons of the show, and even more with the movie that seals the deal for the one of the funniest and best value anime collections you’ll find out there.
