If you remember my review of the Princess Principal series some time ago, you’ll know I had a great time watching some awesome ladies doing their spy thing set during the early 20th century of a alternate Britain called Albion. I would’ve never guessed they would return and in a movie series at that, starting with Princess Principal: Crown Handler – Part One. Fans of the series and the spy genre will enjoy this short but awesome film out of principal.
via YouTubePrincess Ange and her spy friends are back at it once again as the stakes and the difficulty of their positions and missions are higher than ever. Thanks to the events of the series, the aristocrats running Albion have doubled their efforts to making sure the ladies and their espionage adventures will come to a swift end. Nevertheless, they’re pulling double duty with not one but two missions that will doom the country if they fail.
First up, they’ll have to find and retrieve a book dealer from a well guarded and fortified prison while also establishing contact with their double agent within the royal family without getting caught or raising suspicions. Thankfully our lovely heroines are prepared and ready to take on these challenges, but with this only being the beginning of their struggles, how long will they be able to fight the good fight on multiple fronts?
You’ll have to watch and find out while having a blast doing so as I did, as it was awesome seeing Ange and the gang back together again with the artwork, animation, and stakes being raised that only the big screen can handle. While the movie seems to speed by and end before it truly begins, I loved every second of it and can’t wait to see the other entries of this film series.
Thanks to Blu-ray, your screen is able to capture this silver screen adaptation perfectly as the visuals and audio are spot on and will pull you into the adventure. There’s also some special features to spy on once the credits roll, starting with clean opening and closing scenes, some original Japanese promotional videos, the theatrical trailer, a fun short called “Busy Easy Money”, and more.
I really enjoyed Princess Principal: Crown Handler – Part One and I so can’t wait for the next film to be released. Part two should hopefully come here before the year is out, but they’re planning on making this a six-part series so there’s no telling when we’ll get to the conclusion. Even still, fans will love this film and keep a spying eye out for the next epic entry.
