After releasing the original series on both Blu-ray and DVD, it was only a matter of time before the final episodes of Josie and the Pussycats would come along. They’re finally here and in high-definition at that in the Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space: The Complete Series Blu-ray set. Those who can’t get enough of the fun and lovely ladies and their misadventures will want to have some out of this world laughs with this collection.

These sixteen episodes kick off with our music-making, mystery solving gang accidentally getting launched into outer space thanks to Alexandra. Now Josie and the gang travel the universe looking for a way home while running into all kinds of misadventures that involve evil robots and space pirates, to cat-like people and more. Thankfully they have a new sidekick named Bleep to help out, and they’ll need all they can find in order to get back home.

It was nice going down memory lane with this show as I haven’t seen it in a few decades. While Hanna-Barbera was cranking out these kind of shows left and right back then, it was always fun watching Josie and her friends get into one crazy situation after another with the cool backdrop of space adding to the fun. This meant there was always some new planet, villains, and cool spaceships popping up throughout the series’ run to keep things fresh.

The visuals and audio are pretty good here as they make the show come alive like never before. Sadly the special features department is empty on this release, but the sixteen episodes across two Blu-rays discs should keep you entertained. That being said, if you’re an old school fan of the show or a newcomer wanting to see what these cats are up to, you’ll want to grab Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space: The Complete Series and step into a galaxy full of 70s fun and laughs.
