In case you missed it, you’ll want to take a look at my review for the first season of this anime as I had a good time with it just as I did with the BanG Dream! 2nd Season: Complete Collection. These ladies are back to shake things up again with cool music and even cooler attitudes as they tackle any problem that comes their way.
Picking up not long after the previous season, our ladies Kasumi, Arisa, Saya, Tae, and Rimi are entering a new school year as second-year students. With a newfound sense of confidence from making their band a hit and being upperclassmen, they decide they’re going to take things to the next level with a concert. As they work on school and their music, they quickly learn they may have bitten off more than they can chew as putting together a concert isn’t as simple as it seemed to be.
If that wasn’t enough to deal with, a rival band of theirs called Roselia have also announced they’re doing a concert and are set to have it done soon. It’s going to take the girls along with some old and new friends to help make their concert a success while also leaning on each other for other problems that come up along the way.
As I mentioned earlier, I had a rocking good time with this season as I did with the previous one. It was always a fun time watching the ladies come together and getting things done in school, their lives, and with their awesome band. Speaking of which, the songs featured throughout the season are some of their best yet and will have you in the groove and cheering at each performance.
Thanks to a Blu-ray release, the visuals and audio are top notch which make every musical performance that much better, and the special features are light but fun with clean opening and closing animations. It would’ve been cool to have a compilation of all or some of the songs throughout this season, but maybe we’ll get something like that in the next season.
BanG Dream! 2nd Season: Complete Collection takes the ladies and their band to new heights while also bringing the good and bad times that come with trying to make it through school, life, and the music world. If you’re a fan of music-themed anime and/or loved the first season as I did, you’ll want to rock out with these girls.
