Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series Episode Three

Definitely the most emotional episode yet that will leave you wanting more guardian goodness.

Just when I thought this Telltale series couldn’t get any better, they drop the most emotion-filled episode yet in Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series Episode Three – More Than A Feeling. The title fits and then some, as players are taken through some heavy feels with our band of heroes in the most moving adventure thus far.

Picking up right where the previous episode left off, Peter and Gamora make it to the location that Peter’s visions have lead them to. After having yet another vision while there, they stumble across the emotion-reading alien Mantis (as made famous by her appearance in the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 movie). It turns out she was the one that was guiding Peter with the visions and is in need of his help to either empower the forge and make some of the team happy by bringing their loved ones back from the dead, or saving the universe from its power by destroying it at a Kree shrine. This in turn brings about mixed feelings between the heroes as some are for empowering the forge while others think it should be destroyed. Whatever the case may be, it’s up to you to decide as you embark on their most challenging and emotion heavy adventure yet.

As stated earlier, I didn’t think the series was going to keep getting better and better as I played, but Telltale proved me wrong. Not since the first Walking Dead season have I enjoyed playing one of their titles as much as I have with this one. While some could say this episode was a little less action oriented (there’s still a nice amount though), I for one loved the dialogue moments and choices to be made. From Peter trying to keep his promise to his mother and not get into fights anymore in a flashback to his youth, to doing his best to squash Gamora and Nebula’s sibling rivalry at long last, there’s a lot of emotion-filled choices to choose from this time around. There’s also some fun exploration bits to sort through, along with enough action to round this out in being one of Telltale’s best releases.

Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series Episode Three – More Than A Feeling has more feels than any episode before it, and quite possibly the most emotions since Telltale’s Walking Dead Season One. Those who have played the previous episodes will see continuing with this one as a no-brainer, but those new to Telltale games or this series will want to grab the season pass and join in on the action and feels here. Just be ready to be left hanging as this one ends on a cliffhanger, and the next episode, “Who Needs You” can’t come soon enough.
