E3 2018: The Surge 2 Promises More Dismemberment Memory Making

The sequel to last year’s hit dismemberment simulator looks to offer fans even more brutal fun.

Focus Home Interactive for a look at The Surge 2, the sequel to last year’s industrial-themed dismemberment simulator. Word to the wise: much like the first, the sequel isn’t aiming to be one for everyone, though if you’re itching for more Dark Souls-inspired action, scratch away.

Fans shouldn’t worry as combat here still looked just as brutal as in the original Surge, with a focus on aiming for specific limbs on enemies in order to dismember them. Dismembered enemies provide the schematics for their equipment, allowing you to customize your character’s gear to your liking.

What’s more, customization is taken to a whole different level: you’ll be able to create your own hero this time around rather than playing as the first game’s protagonist Warren. While I wasn’t able to go hands-on with The Surge 2, the footage on offer looked fantastic and I’m eager to give the finished game a shot when it launches sometime next year for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
