War may never change, but thankfully the food selection in the Fallout game series does. From BlamCo Mac and Cheese to Deathclaw Steak, there’s always something new and exciting to try, if you have the iron stomach to handle it. For those who were ever curious to know what these dishes taste like, or want to throw down the ultimate food spread to celebrate the upcoming release of Fallout 76, then the Fallout: The Vault Dweller’s Official Cookbook is something “S.P.E.C.I.A.L.” you’ll want on your shelf – provided you survived the apocalypse.

With 192 pages featuring over 75 different recipes inspired by the hit game series, this zany cookbook will have you whipping up everything from appetizers, to main dishes, and of course desserts. Because you simply must finish off your Deathclaw fillet with a smooth and creamy Nuka-Cola float. Trust me, it’s worth its weight in bottle caps.

I’ve been trying out all sorts of recipes lately for me and my family, and it’s good to finally have a fun cookbook in my collection that gives a wide selection of things to make. There’s even some healthy and lean dishes you can make by substituting items for those watching their caloric intake.

Author Victoria Rosenthal obviously had a good time making her debut with this book and it shows, as I enjoyed seeing all of the Fallout artwork and funny notes scribbled in the book, along with modern day ingredients and recipe titles being crossed out and replaced with items from the game series, such as Bacon Wrapped Scallops being crossed out for Mystery Meat-Wrapped Nukalark. The book is nice and study thanks to being a hardcover, and the paper quality is perfect with well illustrated, clear pictures of the food and instructions to get you cooking with Vault Boy (or Girl) in no time.

So for those who ever wanted to experience the food of Fallout without having to hunt down monsters for the ingredients and fight off irradiated mutants using the V.A.T.S., the Fallout: The Vault Dweller’s Official Cookbook is for you. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the game series and cook up some tasty meals that will have your friends and family emerging from their vaults to come over and chow down.
