Capcom scares up a handful of brand new screens and gameplay video from their upcoming Wii port of Dead Rising.

Naked Came I!

Despite a two-year window since the original's release, it looks like the folks out there never seem to tire when it comes to everyone's favorite videogame villain - zombies!  That's right you alien/Nazi/supernatural supporters out there, your personal baddies-of-choice don't even come close when it comes to defining the most popular object of everyone's affection for splattering, zapping, or just plain good old fashioned dismembering.  Capcom's upcoming Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop port for the Nintendo Wii (no stranger to Capcom-sponsored bouts with the undead) looks to keep that tradition alive, only now with all the waggle-power the console can muster.

Much has been made of this version's (how shall I say this nicely) lack of graphic fidelity when compared to its Xbox 360 original, but despite the excision of many of the game's zombie residents from the shopping mall there's a host of new features and gameplay added to help round out the package.  Speaking of the original, while I tried very, very hard to love and accept it...I could not.  Surprisingly great visuals couldn't make up for haphazard and awkward pacing, a silly and convoluted save system, and lack of overall structure.  Agree or disagree, let's hope the Wii revision can manage to make up for its technical downgrade with an excess of riches to round out my complaints.

While I would have personally liked to see an all-new adventure rather than a stripped-down port, I'm optimistic, and here's a new round of screenshots and gameplay trailer to help make the progressive-scan medicine go down a bit smoother.
