Now you're playing with power!
Who said that just because a game has 8-bit graphics and synth-tastic sound
that it can't show off a little bit of that modern shine 'n polish? Mega Man
9, the game that's making many a new-school gamer realize that game
controllers are indeed flingable, finally gets its first wave of DLC in the form
of Proto Man and a new challenge. Although we've already reported on this
bag o' digital goodness earlier on
Popzara Blogs, Capcom was nice enough to send over a barrage of screenshots
to make the medicine go down just a bit smoother.
Proto Man returns to the series, complete with charge-shot, power-slide, and
handy bullet-deflecting shield. Unfortunately, this double-fun comes packaged
with the crimson-colored hero taking double-damage and double bounce back when
hit. Endless Attack is the single new challenge this week, testing the most
hardcore-of-hardcore fans to last as long as they can before expiring into a
poof of electric bubbles. If the idea of spending a few more dollars for a
few more stress-inducing causes of stress-inducing anxiety and hardcore bliss,
by all means navigate your consoles to the appropriate store for pick-up!
Like the game itself, the DLC is curiously staggered, with the Wii version (of
course) hitting digital stores today, the Xbox 360 October 7th, and the PSN
bringing up the rear October 9th.
Enjoy the screens!
