Archer's second Blu-ray collection is even better - and dirtier - than the first, with even crazier episodes and more special features than ever.
FX's twisted animated hit remains one of the funniest and most original shows currently airing on cable television, and Archer Season 2 is a great follow up to first set, as it builds on what made the show hilarious to entirely new levels on insanity. And Fox obviously listened to fans' cries as the special features are better than ever, with loads of new clips and other fun bits that really make this a collection worth owning. Definitely give Archer a chance to infiltrate your Blu-ray collection, you’ll be so glad (and maybe even a little scared) that you did. I doubt you'll find a father and baby team with matching tattoos anywhere else.

Archer and crazy co-workers at the spy organization ISIS are back
saving the world - when they feel like it - and bringing you all the twisted
humor, sex, and violence you can handle in their second high-definition
collection with Archer Season 2 on Blu-ray. Fans of FX's
delightfully morbid hit animated spy comedy can look forward to even more rude
and crude mishaps of
Archer and his friends, while those new to the series will want to see where the
laughs started in the hilarious and ground-breaking
Season 1.
All thirteen
episodes are here, along with the bonus three that aired later after the
season ended. There’s even crazier situations that Sterling Archer has to deal with
this time around, from finding out he might have a son from a hooker he slept
with long ago, to contracting cancer and suffering from chemotherapy side-effects while still going on spy missions. Then there’s the scandals and other
zany things happening back at the office, such as Malory trying to cut costs by
going green, much to the dismay of the workers. Other troubles include an
actress hanging with the gang to prepare for a spy movie she’s set to star in, a
co-worker losing an eye, and a drunken, sexual mishap between Cyril and Pam that
has the potential to bring down the company.
If you thought the depravity of the first season was
insane, season two really takes things to the “Danger Zone”.

As with the first season, 20th Century Fox has done a fantastic job with the
video transfer. Everything shows up perfectly, as details and colors are all in
place here, making it a treat to see Archer kick butt in high-definition. The
5.1 DTS-HD sound serves it purpose quite well, as you’ll hear every sarcastic
remark, gunshot, kick, and punch with crystal clarity.
The special features here are a lot better than those included on the first
season set. First, there’s “Archersaurus - Self Extinction”, which is a
hilarious E! True Hollywood Story-like documentary that chronicles the rise and
fall of the Archersaurus, which is something from the first season special
features you’ll have to see to better understand this. “L'espion Mal Fait” is
small feature that shows an injured Archer being remade into someone that only
die-hard fans will know. “Ask Archer” is a fun short where Archer answers
questions from viewers such as who he would like to see cast in a live-action
ISIS film, to bizarre questions like how to get certain kinds of
“stains” out of cashmere. “Semper Fi” has Sterling sending a shout-out to a real
life military officer, but with his own brand of humor added.
Lastly, there’s
“ISIS Infiltrates Comic-Con” that features clips from the cast’s panel at the
2011 San Diego Comic-Con. Show creator and writer Adam Reed and the cast answer
questions about the series and drop hints about season three. While it’s still
missing direct cast and crew interviews as with the previous season set, at
least the Comic-con footage is a start in the right direction.
FX's twisted animated hit remains one of the funniest and most original shows
currently airing on cable television, and Archer Season 2 is a great follow up to
first set, as it builds on what
made the show hilarious to entirely new levels on insanity. And Fox obviously
listened to fans' cries as the special features are better than ever, with loads
of new clips and other fun bits that really make this a collection worth owning. Definitely give Archer a
chance to infiltrate your Blu-ray collection, you’ll be so glad (and maybe even
a little scared) that you did. I doubt you'll find a father and baby team with
matching tattoos anywhere else.

Painfully bad on so many levels; tells a story that doesn’t even try to make sense, with Cage giving undoubtedly his worst performance ever.

The lackluster visuals are enlivened by a English-language screenplay that grounds the story; with good characters, a charming story, and successfully conveys themes of friendship and bravery.
