New character posters from the upcoming IMAX release of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse are now online - collect them all right here!

Written by Evan Nathans (editor-at-large)

Waxy apples right here!

Practically nothing can stop The Twilight Saga.  Except new chapters, that is, and that's exactly what's starting to happen as Hollywood quickly runs through the remaining books of Stephenie Meyer's supremely popular series of gothic love in the world of vampires and werewolves.  Less than two years in, we're already about to get the third movie, Eclipse, which for the first time will have to fight to keep its blockbuster status in the middle of an already packed summer schedule.

To help spread the word about its impending theatrical debut we've got a handful of character posters from the film, which also advertise its all-important IMAX debut, which means bigger Jacobs and larger Edwards than ever before.  That also means more depressed Bella and even wider angles of all those ridiculous characters to go along with them, none of which I could name if you paid me.  Like every other Twilight-related poster we've seen, this latest batch continues the Photoshop Hell of the film's main characters, as they've been magically transformed into plastic versions of their flesh 'n blood counterparts, and I can't help laughing at the pouty phoniness of it all.

Has there ever been such a popular Hollywood blockbuster that has looked this cheap and committee-based before?  Unlike its Harry Potter cousin, nothing in the Twilight series seems planned or well thought-out, almost as though the producers were just as surprised as we were that it became as popular as it has.  As such, it does have the feel of hasty assembling, but so do many of today's bigger hits.  One thing that has caught my interest, to be honest, is what new director David Slade (Hard Candy, 30 Days of Night) will do with his chance at the franchise, as he's obviously used to working with harder-edged material.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse sinks its fangs into standard and IMAX theaters everywhere June 30th.  Better get your tickets now, and enjoy the posters!
