Two new character posters for M. Night Shyamalan's live-action adaptation of The Last Airbender.

Written by Evan Nathans (editor-at-large)

Are you Bended?

Despite being denied its original, full title thanks to a certain box-office phenomenon, M. Night Shyamalan's upcoming adaptation of Nickelodeon's Avatar: The Last Airbender (now simply, The Last Airbender) is looking to bring is live-action self to theaters this July.  Yahoo Movies was kind enough to post a new set of character posters from film, and we've got copies for anyone who wants them.

Up on the slate are two new character posters from the film, one with Dev Patel (Slumdog Millionaire) as Prince Zuko and the other with newcomer Noah Ringer as main-character Aang. There's been much talk about the film's "white-washing" casting decisions, where many of the original animated series' Asian characters are now being played by relatively all-white actors. Whether this will affect the financial future of the film and how its many, many fans will react remains to be seen, but its worth noting that a certain James Cameron-directed Avatar project was also plagued by pre-release skepticism...and its characters were friggin BLUE.

Enjoy the posters, and watch for The Last Airbender to invade theaters July 2nd!

Based on a premise that only gets progressively less likely the further it goes until it reaches an ending that might as well have been written for a fantasy novel.
