Six posters give fans a first look at the upcoming collection of the animated Halo Legends anime project!

Written by Chris Mitchell (associate editor)

Among the many game-themed projects announced at the 2009 San Diego ComicCon, few elicited as much fan-drooling and slobbering as Microsoft's joint venture with several popular Japanese anime companies for the upcoming compilation video, Halo Legends.  Keeping in step with previous projects, the seven-part series will showcase the Xbox 360's most franchise in officially sanctioned, animated form.  Sources put six of the features (from studios Bones, Casio Entertainment, Production I.G., and Studio 4°C) as keeping with the growing Halo-universe canon, while the seventh (from studio Toei) will parody the universe made popular by one Master Chief.  Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed) is serving as the project's creative director.

The live-action film may be in development hell, but look for Halo Legends to hit both DVD and Blu-ray discs sometime in 2010, courtesy of Warner Bros.  Fans will be able to get their Halo fan in September with the release of Halo: ODST for the Xbox 360 in September, but if you can't wait that long here's the first set of posters from the upcoming animated collection, courtesy of Halo.Bungie.Org (HBO).
