Two character posters from the upcoming action/comedy Sherlock Holmes hit online, showing both Holmes and Watson.

Written by Chris Mitchell (associate editor)

Here are some character posters and stills from the upcoming remake/reboot/or just plain reimagining of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's most famous character, Sherlock Holmes, starring Robert Downey Jr. as Holmes and Jude Law as Dr. Watson.

Directed by Guy Ritchie (Snatch, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels), I'm very much looking forward to seeing this film, as it shows Holmes in a very different light that most fans aren't used to.  I like how Robert Downey Jr. is portraying Holmes with many flaws, plenty of action, and not have him all prim and proper like the thousands of older Holmes films, TV shows, etc.

Thanks to Yahoo Movies for the addition, and feel free to download the official posters for yourselves just below.  Judging by the pictures, we will have a great Christmas gift to look forward to when Sherlock Holmes is released on Christmas Day.  It's elementary, you know!

Based on a premise that only gets progressively less likely the further it goes until it reaches an ending that might as well have been written for a fantasy novel.
